Woodland Flowers and Plants
Saturday May 21st 1:00pm - 3:30pm
With Marilyn Gilmore, Natural History Teacher
Misty Meadows can help bring the wonders of nature to your child. Every third Saturday of the month we will hold Natural History Tours through the grounds and woodlands of Misty Meadows. There is no age restriction and the walks are free! Trails are stroller wide and well maintained.
This months walk will focus on the plant life that thrives in the rich forest soil! By this time in the year, trees are fully awake and most are blooming with flowers, even trees normally thought to not have flowers are blooming, just in different ways! Learn about how plants grow so well in the dense forests, what kinds of plants grow there and how you can protect and learn to identify them! Join us for this beautiful walk in the woods and help bring the joys and mysteries of the Wild Wood to your children.
Please call ahead if there is rain or inclement weather. Please remember water (no disposable plastic water bottles, please) chemical free insect repellent (we have a lovely all natural one in the shop) and to dress comfortably and weather appropriate!
